“As a Native New Mexican and nurse practitioner, I started this initiative with a calling deeply rooted in Proverbs 31:8–9 — to speak up for the vulnerable and bring justice to the underserved. Reform ABQ Wellness Initiative is my answer to that call, built to provide wellness without barriers and care with compassion.”

Our Story

Reform ABQ Wellness Initiative was born from a deep calling to serve our neighbors through compassionate, accessible care. Founded by a Native New Mexican nurse practitioner, this nonprofit reflects a lifetime of understanding the unique struggles faced by our communities. As a nurse-led organization, we combine clinical excellence with the heart of service, standing in the gap for those who are often overlooked or underserved.

Guided by Proverbs 31:8–9 — 'Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice' — our mission is both a spiritual and professional commitment to health equity. Reform ABQ Wellness Initiative is a beacon of hope, rooted in faith, community, and the unwavering belief that wellness should never be a privilege — it should be a promise.

Our Mission

To eliminate barriers to healthcare by delivering compassionate, nurse-led wellness services rooted in community, education, and faith. We serve the underserved with dignity and equity — ensuring every New Mexican has the opportunity to thrive in health and wholeness.

As a Native New Mexican–founded initiative, our mission reflects a deep understanding of the systemic inequities that impact our region. We lead with the heart of nursing — prioritizing advocacy, prevention, and accessibility — while creating trusted relationships that restore hope and transform health outcomes. At Reform ABQ Wellness Initiative, wellness is not a privilege; it’s a promise we intend to keep.
